Lisle Park District $29.5M Bond Referendum Question On Ballot: What To Know

LISLE, IL — The Nov. 3 ballot will include a question for the Lisle Park District's proposed $29.5 million bond referendum to support the construction of an indoor recreation center.

Here's how the question will appear on the ballot:

Shall the Lisle Park District, DuPage County, Illinois, replace the existing Community Center by building and equipping a new Community Activity Center with a fitness area with cardio and strength equipment, an indoor walking/jogging track, multi-court gymnasiums, and flexible programming spaces and issue its bonds to the amount of $29,750,000 for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?

The park district began envisioning a new indoor recreation center since 2023, when it was listed as a top priority on their Strategic Master Plan.

PROS Consulting was later hired to conduct a feasibility study that launched in February 2025. The findings of the study were presented during a Lisle Park District meeting in November.

The study showed that The priorities outlined by residents via surveys, website interactions and focus groups included pickleball courts and an indoor walking track, in addition to programming for water and fitness classes and adult sports.

Amenities that are being considered for the indoor recreation center include an elevated track, a multi-use court, two gymnasiums and a fitness room with weights and cardio workout equipment.

The 25-year bond referendum has a project tax impact of $146 for homes that have a fair market value of Lisle's median, $407,000. Residents can click the link to see their projected tax impact from the bond referendum.
