Lisle Park District Preschool Teacher Retires After 21 Years

Open House celebration scheduled to honor Gentle Learning Preschool Teacher, Mary Brock

Lisle, IL – On Thursday, August 27, from 3:30-5:00pm, Lisle Park District’s Gentle Learning Preschool will be honoring Mary Brock for 21 years of service at an Open House retirement celebration at the Recreation Center, 1925 Ohio Street in Lisle.

Mary Brock began her career with the Lisle Park District as an instructor to various early childhood classes, eventually becoming a teacher at Gentle Learning Preschool where she has taught for the past 18 years. The Lisle Park District would like to formally thank Mary for 21 years of dedication to the early education of hundreds of children in the greater Lisle community. Any parent, student or colleague who has experienced the pleasure of working with Mary during her tenure at the Lisle Park District is welcome to attend the Open House being held in her honor.

In September 2014, the Lisle Park District Board of Park Commissioners presented Mary Brock with an award for her dedication, hard work and excellent service as a teacher at Gentle Learning Preschool. The Lisle Park District Recreation Program Manager who oversees Gentle Learning Preschool, Cheryl Patterson, praised Mary’s efforts stating, “20 years of Lisle children have been affected by her creativity and dedication to the Lisle Park District and the Gentle Learning Preschool program.”
