Lisle Police Officer, 43, Remembered As Dedicated Cop, Family Man

LISLE, IL — Lisle police and community members are mourning the loss of Officer Brett Lauten, who lost his battle with colon cancer Thursday. In a memorial online, the Lisle Police Department recalled Lauten's "infectious laugh" and dedication to his job, wife, and two young children.

Lauten, of Naperville, is survived by his wife and Theresa, his six-year-old daughter, Madison, and his two-year-old son, Maximillian.

Lauten won numerous awards during his 20 years serving on the Lisle Police Department.

A GoFundMe account has been started to help raise funds to help Lauten's family fund education for Lauten's young children.
