'Multiple Shots' Fired Into Apartment, Man Wounded: Lisle Cops

Lisle police say a suspect remains at large, but is believed to have left the area as of late Monday morning.

LISLE, IL — A 40-year-old man was injured after shots were fired through the window of his apartment building early Monday in southwest Lisle.

Police say the man was inside his dining room in the 2800 block of Windsor Drive just before 5:30 a.m. when someone began pounding on his door. The man told police he looked out the window to see someone walking away. A few minutes later, he looked out the window again and "multiple shots" were fired, one of which hit him in the upper arm, according to a news release.

The man sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, police say. According to police, the suspect fled the area and was still at large as of 10:30 a.m. Monday. Lisle police were being assisted by Naperville police, Woodridge police and the DuPage County Sheriff's Office's K-9 unit in the ongoing search.

"We do not believe there is a known active threat to the community at this time," a social media update from Lisle police read. In the wake of the shooting, Lisle police are asking residents with information or surveillance footage to call 630-271-4200 and ask for the investigations department.
