How long have you lived in Lisle District 202? 14 years
Number of children? Two
Why are you running for re-election for school board?
I love this community and all it has to offer. My reasons for running for re-election are simple: my continued belief that we have the BEST academic environment (great administrators, teachers, programs and students) anywhere! I want to ensure that our district remains fiscally responsible and that we continue to promote a positive social emotional learning environment.
What have you accomplished during your first term?
Individually I have accomplished nothing. But working together with the Board of Education and the administration for the last four years we have successfully completed and implemented district and board goals and a new superintendent evaluation tool.
What are the best qualities of Lisle schools?
Our size. Not only does it allow for small class size but it also encourages opportunities for involvement for all students and parents.
What are the challenges facing School District 202?
To constantly keep updating the curriculum to meet the needs of all of the students in our district, to ensure that every student achieves their highest potential. We also must continue to meet the increasingly stringent federal and state demands on our district.
The state of Illinois' finances are strained. Do you feel the district is financially secure?
Yes. But if the CPI continues to be close to zero while transportation, safety, educational and facilities costs continue to rise, even though we have been fiscally responsible, we will face challenges controlling expenses while we try to increase the programming that we offer to our students.
What do you want voters to know about you?
How much I care about Lisle District 202 schools, the students and our Lisle community.
