Naperville Man Seriously Injured in Palatine Motorcycle Crash

The accident happened at 12:49 p.m. Wednesday on Hick Road just south of Dundee Road in Palatine.

A 64-year-old Naperville man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash that occurred shortly before 1 p.m. in Palatine.

The accident happened when a 2004 Mitsubishi sedan pulled out of the Jewel parking lot, attempting to make a right turn onto northbound Hicks Road, and collided with a motorcycle that was traveling north on Hicks and approaching Dundee Road, according to a Palatine Police Department press release.

The Naperville man was driving the motorcycle and suffered head injuries. He was taken to Lutheran General Hospital for treatment of “potentially life-threatening injuries,” according to the news release.

The driver of the sedan, a 23-year-old Hoffman Estates man, was not injured in the crash.

The case is being investigated by the Palatine Police Department and the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (S.T.A.R.) Team, a multi-jurisdictional crash investigation assistance team comprised of crash reconstruction specialists from Palatine and neighboring police departments.
