Public Hearing Planned To Discuss Route 53 Redevelopment Initiative In Lisle
The public hearing will be held June 1 at Lisle Village Hall.
LISLE, IL — A public hearing is planned for June 1 to review and discuss redevelopment and tax-increment financing (TIF) district plans for part of Route 53 in Lisle.
Proposed plans for the 67-acre redevelopment project area include a multi-dealership initiative by Chicagoland Auto Group. This development would include a Honda of Lisle dealership and the relocation of Lisle Body Werks and VinFast, along with renovations for a Polestar dealership that will be housed in the Volvo building.
The redevelopment project area stretches south from Warrenville Road to Ogden Avenue and from Dorset Street east to Main Street.

According to a TIF eligibility report prepared by S.B. Friedman Consultants in March, the redevelopment project area comprises 53 parcels, 17 of which are currently vacant. The vacant land qualified the redevelopment project area as a blighted area. Additionally, more than 90 precent of the area's primary buildings are over 35 years old.
The proposed redevelopment aims to reinvigorate the area from a blighted area to a "vibrant district," per the eligibility report.
