Toddler Fatally Hit By Car In Lisle Driveway

Police say the 23-month old died before he was able to be airlifted from the scene.

LISLE, IL — A toddler was hit by a car and killed at a home in Lisle Sunday, police said. The 23-month-old boy died before he could be airlifted to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, according to Lisle police.

The toddler was in a private driveway in the 2200 block of Christian Lane when he was struck by a vehicle just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the vehicle was driven by a 40-year-old woman. Lisle-Woodridge Fire District responded to the scene and immediately took the boy to Edward Hospital before he was pronounced dead of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, according to police. No citations had been issued and no charges had been filed in the case as of late Monday.
