The Village’s Public Works Department will conduct the annual hydrant-flushing program beginning Monday, August 23 through Friday, August 27, 2021. Hydrant flushing is a preventative maintenance measure that removes accumulated minerals and other deposits that collect in water mains naturally over time. Flushing hydrants on a regular basis is a way to safeguard the Village’s investment in its infrastructure by extending the useful service life of system components. Hydrant flushing also improves the quality of water supplied to water customers and ensures hydrants are working properly. Hydrants will be flushed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and signs will be posted in areas where this work is occurring. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (630) 271-4187.
