Grand Prairie Animal Hospital Welcomes New Veterinarian To Team

The new vet is an Orland Park native who will be starting her career at the Manhattan animal hospital.

MANHATTAN, IL — Grand Prairie Animal Hospital in Manhattan has added a new veterinarian to its team, Dr. James McMahon announced.

Dr. Mackenzie Germino will be starting her career as a veterinarian working alongside Dr. McMahon in mid-June.

Dr. Germino is originally from Orland Park. She obtained her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish at the University of Missouri(Mizzou) and completed veterinary school at Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Germino is particularly interested in small animal medicine, but also enjoys the occasional pocket pet, having several of her own, McMahon said. She is particularly interested in animal behavior and enjoys teaching new things to her dogs. When she is not at work, she can frequently be seen running on the trails with her dogs, spending time with her family, or crafting.

Grand Prairie Animal Hospital has proudly provided care to countless dogs and cats of Manhattan and the surrounding communities for the past 20+ years, McMahon wrote. Its staff prides themselves on providing high-quality care, focusing on wellness and preventative medicine, sick patient care, as well as performing most surgical and dental procedures.
