Barn Burns To The Ground On Schoolhouse Road

Fire officials have described a barn fire in Manhattan Township Sunday night as suspicious.

MANHATTAN, IL - A barn in Manhattan Township burned to the ground Sunday night in what fire officials have described as a blaze that is "suspicious in nature."

Fire crews from multiple municipalities responded to the structure fire at 22525 S. Schoolhouse Road in Manhattan around 8:30 p.m. on May 27, according to Todd Sherman of Northern Illinois Fireground Photos.

The barn eventually burned to its foundation while crews were working to put out the fire. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters at the fire station did not have additional information Tuesday night.
