Curfew Enforced in Manhattan This Summer

Manhattan Police Department reminds young residents of curfew times during the summer.

MANHATTAN, IL -- The Manhattan Police Department has reminded residents of the village that curfew will be strictly enforced as summer begins and young residents complete the school year.

The department issued a recent alert on Facebook that included the entire curfew ordinance enacted by the village in 2005. In it, it shows that the curfew for anyone younger than 17 years old is 10 p.m. every night of the week during the summer. The nightly curfew time period extends to 5 a.m.

Some exceptions apply, which include if the minor is accompanied by an adult, on the way home from work and inside a vehicle involved in interstate travel.
