Grand Opening For New Splash Pad In Manhattan Is Monday

The first full season for the Splash Pad in Central Park begins with a ribbon cutting on Monday, June 4.

MANHATTAN, IL - The summer of 2018 will be the first full season of operation for the Splash Pad located in Manhattan's Central Park. A grand opening and ribbon cutting will celebrate the occasion on Monday.

The addition of the Splash Pad in the park is the result of a grant process that led to the redevelopment of Central Park last year, Manhattan Park District Recreation Supervisor Vicki Pacewic said.

Fees for using the Splash Pad have been waived this year. Last year, there was a $1 entry for residents and $3 for non-residents. It will be open throughout the summer and as late as Oct. 1 if weather allows.
