Manhattan Hiring Public Works Maintenance Worker

MANHATTAN, IL — The village of Manhattan is looking to hire a full-time public works maintenance worker in the street department. The village said the street department is responsible for maintenance of the village’s buildings, equipment, roads, alleys, sidewalks and parkways.

According to the village, the preferred candidate will possess general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electric, concrete and underground utilities. Experience operating various types of equipment including backhoe, skid steer, and end loader is a plus. You must have the ability to work in all weather conditions and obtain a Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement.

Minimum hourly rate for this position is $21.35/hour. Applications are available at the Village of Manhattan Administrative Offices or online.
