Manhattan Man Fires Gun During Disturbance In Taco Bell Drive-Thru: Police

MORRIS, IL — A Manhattan man was charged early Sunday with reckless discharge of a firearm after police allege he fired his gun in the drive-thru of a Taco Bell.

At approximately 1:31 a.m. on Sept. 27, the Morris Police Department responded to the area of Taco Bell, located at 1816 North Division St., following a report of a firearm being discharged from a vehicle.

The reporting party told police that a suspect was in the Taco Bell drive-thru and causing a disturbance. As the vehicle left the area, a firearm was discharged out of the vehicle's window, police said.

Morris Police and Grundy County Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on I-80 at Ashley Road.

The driver, identified as 23-year-old Richard Facchina of Manhattan, and the passenger were taken into custody and transported to the Morris Police Department.

Morris detectives responded to Taco Bell and processed the scene. As part of the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage, spoke with witnesses, collected evidence, and interviewed the individuals involved.

Following the investigation, Facchina was charged with unlawful use of weapon and reckless discharge of a firearm. He was transported to the Grundy County Jail. The passenger was released without charges, police said.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.
