Manhattan Museum Holiday Exhibit
The Manhattan Township Historical Museum invites you to visit our celebration of Illinois’ 200th birthday and share your holiday stories of Manhattan and surrounding communities at Christmas time. The museum, located at 255 State Street in downtown Manhattan, will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM Saturday December 1st during the Village’s annual Christmas on State Street. Interesting information about 200 years of Illinois events and people, 130 years of the Village and a salute to Veterans are on display. Children can obtain a signature for the Chamber’s Scavenger Hunt there. Check out the caboose from 10 am to noon. Lighting up and ringing the cross arm bell is a favorite among children.
Members of the Manhattan Township Historical Society will be on hand to discuss local history and present what the Society has to offer in the way of research assistance and education.
