Manhattan Officials: 'We Are Lagging Behind In Census Responses'

Manhattan officials said Wednesday that 58.2 percent of its residents have responded to the 2020 census. They need more to complete it.

MANHATTAN, IL—Manhattan officials are urging residents to complete the 2020 census.

"We are still lagging behind in the census responding results. We need your help so that everyone is counted," village officials said via Facebook.

Your response helps to direct billions of dollars in federal funds to local communities for schools, roads and other public services.

Results from the 2020 census will be used to determine the number of seats each state has in Congress and your political representation at all levels of government.

At last check, 58.2 percent of residents have completed the census, Manhattan officials said.

For those who have not completed it, doing so only takes about ten minutes.

  • Mail: Complete your questionnaire you received in March and return it to the U.S. Census Bureau
