Manhattan Park District Approves Shade Structures At Splash Pad

The park district said the shades will hopefully be installed in early June, depending on weather.

MANHATTAN, IL — Manhattan residents will have a way to stay cool while still enjoying the summer sun at the splash pad. The Manhattan Park District has approved the installation of shade structures at the Central Park Splash Pad.

The park district said the shades will hopefully be installed in early June, depending on weather. The Manhattan Park Foundation donated $20,000 for the structures.

According to board documents from the May 9 meeting, the total cost of the project is $31,000. The shade structures are being purchased from Parkreation, Inc., for $19,929.
