Manhattan Police Warn Residents About Recent Area Vehicle Break-Ins
A residential security camera captured footage of one burglary and police said that there could have been more incidents around the area.
MANHATTAN, IL — Manhattan Police are warning local residents to be on the lookout after at least one vehicle in the area was broken into on Wednesday night, police said on Thursday.
Police posted video footage of a man approaching a vehicle in the Hanover/Sunset area of Manhattan and opening the door and looking through the contents of the pickup truck before leaving. The incident was captured on the resident’s security camera and showed two other vehicles pulling up on the street while the person was inside the resident’s vehicle.
Police are asking residents to check their vehicles to make sure their vehicle was also not burglarized. Police are also asking local residents to check the footage on their security cameras to see if it captured any vehicle break-ins in progress or the license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle.
