Manhattan Post Office Closed: What You Need To Know
Manhattan residents who need to access their P.O. Box can do so at the New Lenox Post Office until the facility on State Street re-opens.

MANHATTAN, IL - The most significant casualty in Tuesday night's F1 tornado that roared through Manhattan was the roof of the Manhattan Post Office located at 185 S. State St. With the roof having been completely blown off the building, the Post Office has been closed temporarily.
Those who use the Manhattan Post Office to access their P.O. Box mail can pick that up at the New Lenox Post Office at 300 N. Vine St. in New Lenox between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. All notice left packages may also be picked up there from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

Home mail delivery to Manhattan residents will not be interrupted during the Post Office closure, according to the United States Postal Service. A news release did not indicate a timetable for when the Post Office is expected to re-open.
Alternate locations for retail transactions include the New Lenox Post Office, 300 Vine St.; the Mokena Post Office, 19934 Wolf Road and the Frankfort Post Office, 21201 Elsner Road.
