MANTENO, IL — The principal of a high school in Manteno was recently arrested at a state park and resigned from the district, according to reports.

Roger Schnitzler was charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated assault after conservation police conducted an undercover investigation June 15 of reported lewd activities at Kankakee River State Park, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources said in a statement published in full by FOX 32.

Schnitzler resigned as principal of Manteno High School, Superintendent Lisa Harrod confirmed, adding the reason was “due to retirement.”
