Marian Catholic High School Coach Takes Part in the Annual Endowment Golf Classic
Manhattan resident and golf coach helps raise $110,000 for scholarships for teens.

Manhattan resident, Jim Mendenhall is the golf coach at Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights. On Monday Mendenhall, along with others helped raise funds for students at the Marian Catholic High School 28th Annual Endowment Golf Classic.
“The Marian Catholic golf outing was established in 1989,” said Dan Kozlowski, Vice President for Advancement at Marian Catholic. “The thought was to have enough of an endowment to support students. Today we have over one hundred students per year benefitting from the endowment itself,” he added.
Also helping to plan the Marian Catholic Endowment Golf Classic was Jill Zager, Assistant to the Vice President for Advancement and Development Operations Coordinator.

“The purpose of this golf outing is to raise funds for our endowment,” said Zager. “The funds provide student scholarships for our student body here at Marian Catholic. It’s a very important fundraiser that helps students who may not be able to afford to attend Marian Catholic, to give them that opportunity,” she added.
Over 150 golfers took to the links at Idlewild Country Club and Flossmoor Country Club for Marian Catholic High School’s 28th Annual Endowment Golf Classic. Held on September 11, the event raised more than $100,000 to help fund student scholarships. Since its founding, Marian Catholic students have received $1.2 million in scholarship through the Endowment Golf Classic.
