Molloy Snow Angel Volunteers Recognized

Student volunteers shoveled driveways all winter people in Manhattan and New Lenox

Winter is finally over and a successful year of Kevin Molloy State Farm Agency Snow Angel program comes to an end. The 34 volunteer “Snow Angels” and their parents were treated to a pizza party on April 4, 2019, at Beggars Pizza in New Lenox.

During the annual planning session to discuss ways the agency can give back to the community, the Snow Angel program was developed. The program connects teens with individuals in the community who need help shoveling snow whenever there was two inches or more of snow. The 34 snow angels teamed up with over 130 homes during the past winter.

“Molloy team member Kim O’Neill coordinated the program ensuring all the homes that requested assistance had a snow angel to help,” Kevin Molloy said. “It was a lot of work to make the program run smoothly and Kim made sure it happened.”

The snow angels received a State Farm hoodie, community service hours, a pizza party and a $25 Creamery gift card. Beggars discounted the pizza and donated the room and Fleckenstein’s Bakery donated a cake and pastries.

The planning for next year’s Snow Angel program is underway. If you would like to volunteer to be a snow angel, or if you would like your home included in the program, contact Kim O’Neill at 815-463-5800.
