Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Semi On I-57: Illinois State Police

The incident happened Monday morning just before 9 a.m. on I-57 southbound in Kankakee County.

KANKAKEE COUNTY, IL — A pedestrian died after being struck by a semi on I-57 southbound Monday morning in Kankakee County, Illinois State Police said.

State police were called at 8:46 a.m. to I-57 southbound near exit 308 US-45/52, for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a semi.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name has not been released.

The southbound lanes of I-57 were shut down between Court Street (milepost 312) and US-45/52 (milepost 308). The lanes have since reopened.
