Peotone Garage Fire Quickly Snuffed Out: Manhattan Fire Protection District
The fire happened in the 100 block of East Lincoln Street Sunday morning, officials said.
MANHATTAN, IL — No injuries were reported in a garage fire early Sunday morning in Peotone, the Manhattan Fire Protection District said.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., the Manhattan Fire Protection District responded to the 100 block of East Lincoln Street in Peotone for a reported detached garage fire.
First-arriving crews were on scene within approximately three minutes and encountered a working garage fire with exposure concerns to nearby structures. Due to the potential threat to surrounding properties, a full still alarm was requested.

Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes, successfully preventing the fire from extending to any adjacent exposures. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Manhattan Fire Protection District investigators.

The Manhattan Fire Protection District was assisted on scene by the Monee Fire Protection District, Beecher Fire Protection District, Frankfort Fire Protection District, Union Fire Protection District, Mokena Fire Protection District, East Joliet Fire Protection District, and Channahon Fire Protection District, who provided either fireground assistance or change-of-quarters coverage.
