Services Set For Beloved Momence Bar Owner Remembered For Pride In Business, Warmth & Kind Heart

Courtney Drysdale, 30, was slain Monday in a robbery at The Line bar in Momence. Services have now been set.

MANHATTAN, IL — Services have been set for the owner of a Momence bar slain Monday in a robbery at the business.

Courtney Drysdale, 30, is being remembered as a loving mother and proud business owner known for her warmth and kind heart, her obituary reads. Drysdale was fatally shot Monday as she was opening The Line, a bar she had owned for four years and at which she had worked for nine years, family wrote. A suspect in her slaying was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon.

"She took pride in her establishment," her obituary reads, "and enjoyed the company of all who came there."

Drysdale was born in Oak Lawn to Glenn Novotny and Dawn Drysdale. Her mother precedes her in death. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Aubrey Drysdale; fiancé of 5 years, Neil Trudeau; father, Glenn Novotny; brothers, James (Trista Hodges) Drysdale and Robert (Anna) Novotny; grandmother of her daughter, Beth Stokes; as well as many great family and friends, her obituary reads.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Jensen Funeral Home, 3639 EAST State Route 17,Kankakee from 3 p.m. until the funeral service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Pat Skelly officiating.

In lieu of flowers, all memorial donations will go into a fund for her daughter, Aubrey.
