• State Grants Awarded For Fire Equipment (southwestmessengerpress.com) — Midlothian’s fire services are set to receive $24,373.67 in state grant funding to buy much-needed small firefighting or ambulance equipment. The award comes from the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s 2026 Small Equipment Grant Program, which distributed $6 million statewide to help departments that struggle to afford essential gear.
