MOKENA, IL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.
This submission comes from Taylor Leddin who nominated family friend Madi Hagwell, a junior high student who has made 2,000 masks for those in need.

This 13-year old girl has spent her stay-at-home time sewing almost 2,000 masks for those in need (essential workers like medical staff and first responders)

She frequently uses her time and resources to give back to her community, including NAWS in Mokena.
