15th Annual Farm And Barn Fest Planned In Mokena

The 15th annual Farm and Barn Fest will be held in Mokena on Saturday, Aug. 10.

MOKENA, IL — The 15th annual Farm and Barn Fest will be held in Mokena Saturday, Aug. 10. The fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the historic Yunker Farm, 10824 W. La Porte Road. The park district said the event is held annually and celebrates the significance of farming life in Illinois' history.

Guests can experience farm life from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through demonstrations, entertainment, food, kids activities and old-fashioned contests for kids of all ages. There is also a country cutie contest for kids 1-5 years old. Western wear is encouraged, and there are divisions for each age group.

An outdoor flea market will also be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oaks Recreations and Fitness Center field. Guests will be able to buy fresh produce, new and used crafts, clothing, tools and more.

A country concert will close out the night from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Yunker Farm bandshell.
