20th Annual Woofstock Planned In Mokena
The event will include award prizes, contests and a pet parade.
MOKENA, IL — The Mokena Park District will hold the 20th annual Woofstock on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Yunker Farm. The event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and it is free to participate. The park district said the first 200 dogs will receive a goody bag.
There will also be award prizes in 20 categories for the pet parade this year such as: Most Exotic, Best Family Costume, Exceptional Tail, Golden Oldie, Yunker Yelper, Pet/Owner look-a-like and more. Pet parade registration begins at 1 p.m., and the parade will start at 1:30 p.m.
The park district said Pet Parade awards and the Social Media Star Award will be presented at 2:30 p.m. To enter the Social Media Star contest, send your dog’s best photo to info@mokenapark.com by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The top 10 submissions will be chosen to go on the park district Facebook page and then voting will start on Friday, Aug. 30 until Sept. 6.

The event will also include canine contests including: Best Trick, Musical Sit, Hot Dog Relay, and a Canine Obstacle Course. Free registration for dog contests is from 1 to 2 p.m.
