21 Students Inducted into NJHS at Mokena Jr. High School

The ceremony was held Tuesday, October 15 in the Commons at Mokena Jr. High School.

MOKENA — On October 15, 2024, Mokena Jr. High School inducted 21 students into the MJHS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). This year’s induction marks years of student involvement and participation.


The purpose of the National Junior Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship in middle school students. Students are selected based on representation of the five pillars of the organization: scholarship, service, leadership, citizenship and character.
Members of NJHS must maintain a 5.0 GPA and complete 10 Service hours per semester. Past volunteer opportunities include Feed My Starving Children, the Bridge Teen Center, NAWS Animal Shelter, and the Frankfort Township Food Pantry.


This year’s inductees into the National Junior Honor Society include: Audrey Apel, Joseph Brown, London Diamond, Breena Guidera, Brian Heim, Zachary Johnston, Mason Jones, Jacob Labriola, Anya Lawrence, Thomas Luoma, Alexandra Madonia, Emma Matelski, Liam Oost, Autumn Priestman, Joseph Rompala, Hala Shouman, Harman Singh, Jacob Soldan, Kaitlyn Tidball, Olivia Trudeau, and Jason Weaver.
