Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Rufus

MOKENA, IL — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at NAWS Humane Society of Illinois. This week's 'Adoptable Pet' is Rufus, who is available for adoption at the humane society.

The society said Rufus is a 2-year-old male Shepherd mix who is very sweet and lovable. He loves attention and always wants to be near people.

He can be a little tentative when introduced to men, but with a little patience, he quickly learns to trust and is fine, the society said. He loves treats and is very treat-motivated - he knows the commands "sit" and "down." He is heartworm positive, but he has already had his last treatment and should be cleared in only a few months.
