Mokena PD Hiring Entry Level Officers

MOKENA, IL — The Mokena Police Department is currently accepting applications for entry level officers.

Starting salary as of July 2025 is $76,067. A new contract with updated salaries is expected in July 2026.

Some requirements include: applicants must be a U.S. citizen; have a valid driver's license; be at least 21 (or 20 if they have completed two years of law enforcement study) and under 35; have a high school diploma and an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. The education requirement may be waived if the applicant is a veteran and has served 24 months of honorable active duty or 180 days of active combat duty.

They must also live within a 35-mile radius of Mokena.

Applicants must attend a written examination on June 27 at Mokena Elementary School, 11244 Willowcrest.
