From cancer survivors and caregivers to families, friends, coworkers, and local supporters, the event is a powerful reminder that no one should face cancer alone. -And every step taken helps provide support close to home.

The Cancer Support Center’s Walk of Hope & Survivor Celebration brings survivors, caregivers, families, and supporters together for a meaningful morning of hope, community, and connection — reminding those impacted by cancer that they never have to face the journey alone.

The morning kicks off with registration at 8:00 a.m., followed by a 5K walk and 1-mile route beginning at 9:00 a.m. Participants can register as individuals or create a fundraising team to rally friends, family, schools, or coworkers around a meaningful cause.

This year’s Survivor Celebration will once again be one of the most heartfelt moments of the day, honoring the strength, resilience, and stories of those impacted by cancer. Survivors receive special discounted registration and will also receive a special survivor swag bag as part of the celebration.

The Cancer Support Center’s Walk of Hope & Survivor Celebration offers a family-friendly morning filled with walking, music, kids activities, and community connection while raising support for local individuals and families impacted by cancer.

Attendees can enjoy a live DJ, light breakfast refreshments, kids' activities, and a bounce house, creating a fun and uplifting atmosphere for all ages. Plus, Tom’s Coffee Truck will be on site to purchase.

Registration is still open, and there is still time for participants to crowdfund and make an even bigger impact before walk day.

Every dollar raised stays local, helping the Cancer Support Center continue providing counseling, support groups, wellness and nutrition programs, child and family support, educational workshops, and community connection for individuals and families impacted by cancer.

With locations in Mokena and Homewood, along with virtual support options, the Cancer Support Center ensures support remains accessible close to home and available at no cost to participants at any stage of the cancer journey.

Community members gather for the Cancer Support Center’s annual Walk of Hope & Survivor Celebration, raising funds that stay local to support individuals and families impacted by cancer throughout the community.

“Walk of Hope is more than a fundraiser. It’s a celebration of survivorship, community, and the power of showing up for one another. The funds raised help ensure local individuals and families continue to have access to support, guidance, and community when they need it most.”

Alyssa Dobbs, Special Event Coordinator for the Cancer Support Center.

Community members are encouraged to register, donate, start a team, or support a participant as the event approaches.
