MOKENA, IL — A local favorite returns to Mokena Saturday, July 25.
Festa Italiana is set to be held at Yunker Park (10824 W Laporte Rd) Saturday, July 25 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Gates open at 10:30 a.m.
Celebrating the contributions of Italians through family, food, fun, entertainment, and the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, the Mokena Festa Italiana brings the community together each year. A recognized 501c3, the Festa Italiana group donates proceeds from the event to various organizations within the community.
Entertainment includes bands all day, wrapping up with Bottemz Up. Kids entertainment includes games, face painting, balloon twisting, and use of the Splash Pad. The barn and washrooms in it are air-conditioned for those wanting to eat inside.
New this year will be a cannoli stuffing contest for kids up to 12. Enricos is holding the first of 3 qualifying rounds for their popular spaghetti eating contest at the fest.
Food and drink sold by 10 vendors onsite, including Enrico's, Joey's Red Hots, Buona Italiano, Bellagio's, Keke's, Villa Rosa, and The Dock on Front Street. Highlighting the drink tent will be a hand-carved Leaning Tower of Pisa ice sculpture for serving Limoncello. Don't miss a classic car show and Knights of Columbus raffle.
