Arbury Hills 1st Graders Exchange Pumpkins With Kids Around U.S.
Students in Donna Wojcik's first grade class at Arbury Hills learned about other cities across the country through the pumpkin exchange.
MOKENA, IL - First graders in Mrs. Donna Wojcik's class at Arbury Hills Elementary School in Mokena took part in a pumpkin exchange with first graders in other classrooms around the country during the month of October.
Wojcik says the students decorated a pumpkin and mailed it along with a letter about their classroom, school, town and state.
"The class was excited to receive letters and pumpkins in return," the teacher said. "It gave the class an opportunity to work on map skills and compare and contrast their classroom with others across the country."
