Biking and Hiking in Chicagoland
Looking for some new places to turn your pedals? Author, Ted Villaire joins the library to discuss his guidebook and answer your questions.
Ted Villaire, author of 60 Hikes within 60 Miles: Chicago and Best Bike Rides Chicago among other books, offers an inside scoop on where to find the best hiking and biking destinations in the Chicago region. He’ll discuss how to get the most out of your hiking and biking excursions, how to stay safe and which places are best for kids, newbies, and seasoned pros looking for a challenge. His slide presentation will feature nearby places you may have heard of, and some places you haven’t. Author of five outdoor recreation guidebooks, Villaire will also describe process of writing a guidebook. Bring your questions and join the Mokena Community Public Library District for an afternoon of adventure.
