There will be a bone marrow registry drive sponsored by the Be The Match organization at Temple Anshe Sholom, 20820 S. Western Ave., on Sunday, March 16, from 11:30 to 1:00. It will be open to those between the ages of 18 and 44. One submits an application along with 4 mouth swabs which will be mailed by the Be the Match organization to the National Marrow Donor Program. There is no charge to register, although donations to Be the Match are welcome. The drive is in honor of Ben Gulizia-Cowing, age 14, who is ill with leukemia, and the grandson of temple member Marcia Cowing and grandfather Will Cowing. One out of 540 people on the registry ends up donating to someone in need of a transplant. That person can potentially save another's life. Come to the drive and get swabbed!
