Bring a turkey, get a workout at Fit Code, give to charity

Fit Code to Host Turkey Fundraiser Workout to Benefit Maple/Morgan Park Food Pantry

Every day, people in our local community go without food. Fit Code (Beverly, McCook, and Mokena) is helping fight hunger and giving hope to families by hosting a turkey fundraiser to benefit the Maple/Morgan Park Food Pantry. Turkeys will be distributed along with the makings of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to those in need.

The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 21 at 9 a.m. The event is open to members and nonmembers, and will be held at the gym’s Beverly location at 10418 S. Western Ave., Chicago. Those attending should arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and complete a waiver.

Children and adults aged seven and up are welcome. Participants should bring clean, indoor shoes and a water bottle. A frozen turkey, turkey breast, ham, or $20 per adult is required for attendance. All proceeds go to charity.

“A core value of Fit Code is giving back to the community, and while we aim to give back year around, Thanksgiving is the ultimate time to be thankful for what we have and help others,” said Shelton Matsey, owner of Fit Code.

Fit Code hosts fundraiser workouts at one of its three locations (Mokena, McCook, and Beverly) monthly to benefit a community effort. This year, Fit Code has raised more than $12,000 for non-profits. For more information, visit Fit Code’s Web site at www.fitcoderesults.com or call (708) 824-8415.
