“Rescue Is Calling – And We Must Go”
Local Gala Lights the Way for Homeless Pets in Need
Frankfort, IL – A heartwarming night of compassion, cocktails, and community is calling — and the local animal rescue heroes at NAWS Humane Society are answering.
On Thursday, September 12th, NAWS will host its much-anticipated annual fundraising gala, “Rescue Is Calling – And We Must Go,” at the stunning CD&ME venue in Frankfort. The indoor/outdoor evening event invites animal lovers from across the region to gather in support of the shelter’s mission to end pet homelessness.
The gala will feature a cash bar (two drink tickets included with ticket), gourmet dinner, silent and live auctions, and a powerful keynote honoring the tireless efforts of rescuers, adopters, and volunteers who work to give animals a second chance at life. But this isn’t your average fundraiser — this is a call to adventure, a celebration of the trailblazers who make rescue possible.
“We’re at a critical time,” says Becca Keller, Development Director for NAWS. “Our shelter is full, veterinary needs are rising, and we’re seeing more animals than ever coming through our doors. This gala helps fund lifesaving programs — spay/neuter, low-cost vet care, and rescue efforts that keep pets out of harm’s way.”
The evening’s theme draws inspiration from the wilderness — both literal and emotional — that so many animals and rescuers have to navigate. Attendees will enjoy a “trailblazing” experience, from themed décor and nature-inspired vibes to stories that spotlight the incredible resilience of rescued pets.
Tickets are now on sale, and all proceeds will directly support NAWS programs. “Whether you're an animal advocate, a donor, or someone who just loves a good party for a great cause, this is your invitation to join us,” Keller adds. “Rescue is calling — and we hope the whole community will answer.”
