Cancer Support Center & UChicago Medicine Present Free Virtual Program on Radiation Therapy
The Cancer Support Center, in partnership with UChicago Medicine, is hosting a free virtual educational program to help individuals better understand the science behind radiation therapy.
The Physics of Radiation Therapy will be held Friday, Aug. 7, from 12–1 p.m. and features guest presenter Christopher Stepaniak, PhD, DABR, Director of Network Medical Physics at UChicago Medicine.
During this session, Dr. Stepaniak will explain how radiation beams are created, shaped, and precisely targeted to treat cancer while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. Whether you’re preparing for treatment, currently receiving radiation, supporting a loved one, or simply interested in learning more, this presentation offers valuable insight from an expert in the field.
The Cancer Support Center provides supportive oncology programs and services at no cost to anyone impacted by cancer.
