Bring your tent and sleeping bags for a fun-filled night under the stars at Mokena Park District’s FAMILY CAMP OUT, August 28-29, 2026. Friday 6:30pm – Saturday 9am at Main Park, 10925 La Porte Road, Mokena. Planned activities include a late-night movie on our giant inflatable screen, campfire complete with s’mores, camp crafts, and continental breakfast in the morning. Indoor bathrooms will be utilized for this event. 
The park district will provide a camp fire. Camp out rules will be sent to all participants before the event. Fee R/NR: $50/$60 per campsite. Six people per campsite. Preregistration is required. Registration deadline: August 24. Mokena Park District is having a FREE OUTDOOR CONCERT&nbsp;on Thursday, August 13 with Prairie Station at the Yunker Park Bandshell, 10824 W. La Porte Road, Mokena. 
Prairie Station is one of the Chicago suburbs’ most exciting modern country bands playing covers of top artists like Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert, along with classics from Garth Brooks and Shania Twain. Be ready to dance!&nbsp; Joey’s Red Hot Food Truck will also be onsite.
The Concert begins at 7pm. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the terraced, grass seating at the bandshell. The Lincoln-Way Area Chorale (LWAC) is now open for registration!
LWAC is a community chorus for adults ranging in age from 18 to 90+. The 2026-27 Season marks our 32nd year as a non-auditioned choir; great for those folks who enjoy singing no matter their experience or level. The choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:15 - 9:15 pm at the United Methodist Church of New Lenox beginning August 17th. The holiday concert this year is entitled, “A World of Holiday Favorites”, to be presented on December 4th and 5th.

Will County Children's Advocacy Center

The Will County Children's Advocacy Center was founded in 1995 by State's Attorney James Glasgow to partner with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) comprised of law enforcement, DCFS investigators, medical personnel, prosecutors, and Will County CAC forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists in response to reports of severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, commercial exploitation, neglect, and exposure to violence of children, in Will County, IL. Our Will County CAC intake/MDT coordinator, forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists provide the following services: * Forensic Interviews: After a child is referred to the Will County CAC by law enforcement or the IL Dept. of Family Services (DCFS), our Intake Coordinator schedules a forensic interview for the child. One of our 4 forensic interviewers listens to the child’s story and asks non-leading, developmentally-appropriate questions as the child talks about the trauma he/she has experienced. Law enforcement, prosecution, DCFS, and mental health professionals observe the interview from a separate room. This reduces trauma for the child and provides a stronger foundation if the case goes to court. * Family Advocacy: Our family advocates are committed to helping each family navigate the complex systems that a family enters when a child makes an outcry of abuse. As each case goes through the investigation, prosecution and healing process, the team is there to help the family understand the process, learn about their rights and successfully access resources that will help their family during crisis. * Trauma-Focused Therapy: Our team of licensed clinical social workers provide short-term, trauma informed therapy to children who have received a forensic interview. Since child abuse affects the whole family, the services are available at no cost to both the child and their non-offending family members. Individual and group therapy is offered in English and Spanish.
