Chicago Man Charged After Stealing Cigarettes In Mokena: Cops
Almost a month after he allegedly stole cigarettes from a Mokena gas station, Daquon Taylor was charged with robbery and burglary.

MOKENA, IL — A Chicago man has been charged after he was allegedly involved in several robberies at gas stations in November. Daquon Taylor, 25, has been charged with burglary, robbery and fraud after he was arrested by Mokena Police Department.
On Nov. 6, Taylor forcefully took cartons of cigarettes from the clerk at Speedway, 19855 96th Ave., Mokena Police said. Taylor then went to Shell, 19100 S. La Grange Road, but he fled the scene after Will County Sheriff's detectives arrived on scene.
Will County detectives followed Taylor onto I-80, where the chase was terminated, police said.

Mokena Police said there were three people in the car, but through investigation, Taylor was identified and taken into custody Dec. 2.
Taylor was charged with robbery and burglary due to the incident in Mokena and he was charged with fraud because he allegedly sold the cigarettes he stole.

Taylor is also believed to have been involved in other incidents in New Lenox and Joliet.
According to police reports from Nov. 6 in New Lenox, two men stole two cartons of cigarettes from a Circle K gas station and a Speedway. Police reports stated the same two men also stole cigarettes from locations in Joliet and Mokena.
As of Dec. 3, Taylor was in custody at Will County Adult Detention Facility. Bond had not yet been set.
