Cynthia Lynn Miller

Cynthia, a 1967 graduate and ISU alum, devoted 41 years to teaching, retired in 2012, and shared her love of music in Sweet Adelines.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory​.

Cynthia Lynn Miller, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Eden Vista Rock Run in Joliet. She was born on December 15, 1949, in Chicago Heights, IL, the daughter of Frank and Pauline (nee Dorough). Cynthia was currently living in Minooka, formerly of Park Forest, IL, Atlanta, GA, and grew up in Joliet. She was a 1967 graduate of Joliet East High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1971 from Illinois State University. She retired in 2012 from Grand Prairie Elementary School in the Plainfield School District 202 after 41 years of service. She is a former member of "Sweet Adeline's Women's Barbershop".

Cynthia is survived by her adopted daughter and caregiver, Jennifer Belchine and her daughters, Gabriella Belchine and Jocelyn Masters; her sister, Sharyn (George) Craig; niece, Amy (Tony) Falco; nephew, Tom (Laura) Craig; and great-nieces and nephews, Payton Falco, and Ashlyn, and Adam Craig.

She is preceded by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded.
