Daisy Troop Thanks Mokena Community Library
Girl Scouts "Daisy" Troop 70183 thanked the Mokena Community Public Library for donating meeting space with pine cone bird feeders.

was a tastier destination for local birds recently, thanks to Girl Scouts "Daisy" Troop 70183.
The troop of 11 kindergartners from and one from made the feeders as a way to thank the library for donating the troop's meeting space.
"The girls made yummy birdseed feeders using pinecones and hung them in the trees just outside the entrance," troop leader Tess Gutkowski said via e-mail. "The girls had a great time and the library appreciated being recognized!"

The girls dipped their pine cones in melted peanut butter to get the seeds to stick. The activity helped the girls earn their Rose Petal, which stands for "making the world a better place."
