Elderly Woman Refused to Leave Library After Racial Comments Toward Asian Patron: Police
79-year-old Armella Frankowski told police she had a right to be at the library and play bingo even after she was asked by staff to leave.

MOKENA, IL - An elderly Mokena woman with a history of alleged violent behavior made racially insensitive comments toward a library patron who has an Asian heritage and refused to leave the Mokena Public Library when asked last week, police in the village have reported.
Armella Frankowski, 79, of the 18900 block of Townline Road was charged with resisting a peace officer and criminal trespassing at the library on Jan. 21, according to a report from the Daily Southtown.
Employees of the library told police they asked Frankowski to leave because she was making racially charged comments to another library patron and refused several times, causing an employee to call police.

When police arrived, Frankowski told them she was a taxpayer and had the right to be at the library to play bingo, according to the report. She is also alleged to have not allowed police to obtain fingerprints because he hands would be injured.
Last month, Frankowski was banned from attending Will County board meetings after an emergency stalking/no contact order was granted for Board Speaker Jim Moustis, who Frankowski is alleged to have punched in the arm after a meeting in December.

According to a police report from 2012, Frankowski was accused of disrupting a church service by accusing a parishioner at St. Mary Church in Mokena of being a pedophile. She charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct in that alleged incident.
