The Summit Hill Junior High boys baseball team takes on Normal Kingsley at 10 a.m. in the first round of the Illinois Elementary School Association Class 3A state tournament. The winner moves on to the final rounds on Saturday.
The Spartans won the regional and sectional championships enroute to the state tournament.
Members of the 2010 Summit Hill Spartan baseball team are seventh graders Ryan Anderson, Lucas Bertolani, Nick Figus, and Jimmy Vallos. Eighth graders on this year's team are Dan Brown, Brandon Butler, Justin Esposito, Luke Harper, Austin Konagel, Kyle Lietz, Luke Mackowiak, Alex Maksymiak, T.J. McCarthy, Matt Murawski, Josh Mutter, Kyle Ostrowski, Joe Pizzo, and Bobby Sikyta.
