Gun enthusiasts in Mokena and the surrounding area will soon have a local place to hone their shooting skills.
Village trustees Monday night OKed the Point Blank Range and Gun Shop, to be located in a 16,000-square-foot building at 18810 88th Ave., south of Interstate 80 and near the Rasmussen College building.
Expected to open in early fall, Point Blank will offer a gunshop with shooting range available for public use, owner Tom Willingham said. Membership will not be required to use the facility.

“Everyone is welcome so long as they have a valid FOID (firearm owner’s identification) card,” Willingham said.
Willingham is partnering on the project with Mokena resident Tim Dal Corobbo. They plan to add a 13,000-square-foot rifle range at the same site in the future.
