Homes for Heroes Program
Money for local heroes when they buy or sell a home now available in Mokena and the Lincoln-Way community.

The nation’s largest program for heroes who will be buying or selling a house is now available in Mokena and to the Lincoln-Way community! This program is a way for all of us to say “Thank you for your service!” It’s exclusively available to firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, military (active, reserves and veterans), healthcare workers and teachers.
Inspired by the tragic events of 9/11, Homes for Heroes was started in Minneapolis, MN at the beginning of 2002. It has since become a nationwide organization that has helped over 27,000 heroes and has given back over $43 million.
Homes for Heroes’ mission is to provide extraordinary savings to heroes who provide services to our nation and its communities every day.

For example, heroes will receive $1,750 (based on home price of $250,000) when they buy or sell a house using any licensed real estate broker who is also a member of Homes for Heroes. Buyers will receive a check in the mail approximately 10 days after closing. Sellers will receive a credit at closing through the title company. This program is not income based – heroes qualify because of their service not their income.
“We’re committed to giving back to our local community heroes because they do so much to make our great community what it is today. They tirelessly serve and sacrifice for us so we feel it’s the right thing to do and we’re excited to be able to say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE,” says Tina Wyatt, a licensed real estate broker with HomeSmart Realty Group and the local Homes for Heroes affiliate serving the Mokena and Lincoln-Way community as well as the surrounding south suburbs of Chicago.
