Current D159 Board Members Take Petitions For April Election

MOKENA, IL — Hopeful candidates for the upcoming school board election in April have already signed out school board petitions from the Will County Clerk's Office. Nominating papers must be filed Dec. 14-Dec. 21, and must include 50 signatures from qualified voters.
In Mokena, District 159 has several board member positions up for election. According to the Will County Clerk's Office, as of Nov. 30, Jim Andresen, Eric Bush, Anna Briscoe and Lisa Zielinski have all signed out school board petitions.
Andresen, Bush, Briscoe and Zielinski are all current board members who are up for re-election. According to the district website, Zielinski is the current vice president of the board, and Briscoe is the current secretary.

Even if hopeful candidates sign out petitions, it does not necessarily mean they will file the papers to run for office. The consolidated election will be held April 6, 2021.
